I am the Co-Founder and currently serve as Co-Executive Director of Regenesis, a Canadian environmental organization whose mission is to educate and empower students to become the environmental leaders of tomorrow. Regenesis runs a number of initiatives in the areas of zero waste, climate change, education, community-building, cycling and food initiatives. Regenesis and our chapters engage with thousands of post-secondary students each year, improving their lives through access to services and education.
I am a Co-Founder and the Executive Director of HOUSE Canada, an organization that advocates and develops affordable housing for students and young adults. Having faced housing precarity growing up, I am passionate about improving the housing situation for others. HOUSE works with post-secondary institutions, student unions, labour unions and all levels of government in the fulfillment of our mission.
I am a Co-Founder and the Co-Chair of the Board of Directors of Guyana Community House. Guyana Community House (Toronto) is an organized effort to create an affordable housing cooperative and community/cultural centre for the Guyanese Canadian community in the GTA. Inspired by the efforts of other ethnocultural communities, our project aims to bring the Guyanese-Canadian community together in a space that would provide affordable housing and social services and to establish a community centre to serve our cultural and social needs.
I am a Co-Founder and the past Co-Chair of The Affordable Housing Committee at York University. The Affordable Housing Committee at York was established in 2016 as a pan-university committee involving students, staff and alumni and with a mission to facilitate the creation of affordable cooperative housing at or near York University's three campuses - Keele, Glendon and Markham. The Committee is funded through a student fee levy and donations from labour and student unions.
